Welcome to My New Business Blog
Welcome to my blogs
Hi, I would like to introduce to my new blogs page. On this page I will discuss my lifestyle and also bring up the things that interest me. I hope to keep ye all interested so I can gain the following on this page and hopefully expand in the future. I am a young student that hopes to inspire people around me into doing something that they think they can’t. Anything is possible with the right mindset.
About Me
I’m a second year student in Cork Institute of Technology studying Accounting. I aspire to be a future chartered accountant after college. I find an interest in this because i like doing the books and love it when they balance. I began studying business in 1st year of school. From the start I knew this was going to be one of my top subjects. I found it interesting and thought it would suit someone like me. I felt it was right up my street! I loved every aspect of it from the accounting to the economics side of it. I then started studying accounting in more detail in 4th year and knew i wanted to do this in college. I’m the type of person that doesn’t stop doing the question until it is balanced.
I am very sporty person. I would try out any sport but my two main sports are Gaelic football and soccer. Luckily, I have had success in both so i know what its like to win. I’m currently playing soccer with Douglas Hall and Gaelic football with St. Michaels. Last year was definitely my most successful year of sport yet. With Douglas Hall we completed the treble, the league, league cup and the Munster cup. Winning the Munster was an unbelievable achievement in itself but to do it while doing the treble was something else. In Gaelic football we won the premier 1 minor county against Nemo Rangers. This was my best achievement in sport so far as nobody gave us a chance in this match.
Why marketing services is different to marketing products
The obvious difference between product and service marketing is that products are tangible, and services are intangible. In my opinion products would be easier to market as they can be displayed, demonstrated and the customer can understand it and decide easier whether the product is worth the money or not. Services, being intangible, can be harder to show value. You can’t see or touch a service. Often, then, the goal of marketing services is to create good relationships with your target audience, developing and building trust. To promote a service you would do it in a different way to a product, in my eyes. I feel like there is push for more promotion in a service as the customer doesn’t really get to use the service. What I would do to promote it would be be the feedback I receive. I would then use this in my favour to promote the service. I personally would rather promote a product as it in in front of you and you can show, physically, the attributes it has got to offer. Another difference in service and product would be the chance customize the service. While products are designed, built and delivered to a range of customers ‘as standard’, services can be tweaked and customized depending on the needs or wants of customers. Your service marketing strategy should reflect this by highlighting the personal touch you provide or how you listen to your customers’ needs.

Why Business Relationship Management is Vital for Professional Service Firms
Building relationships with customers is vital for marketing strategy. Both customers and firms must benefit from a strong relationship, customers must be satisfied with the product/service but also gain trust in the firm to supply such a product/service in order to continue the strong relationship. In my opinion, the first dealing with the customer is going to have a big affect on how they see you as a person and as a businessman. First impression is always a big factor so once you get this right I feel it would have a good knock on affect for the future dealings. If ye both feel that the relationship is strong and both have trust in each other then the dealings between one another should be okay and the business dealings should run as smooth as ever. By doing this saves everyone’s time and also more than likely the job is done right and effective. To grow customer and have a strong business relationship, customers must be confident with the product/service. Loyalty must be established as customers need to expect a high standard product/service every time. This is essential for growth of the business. Customers are unlikely to buy a product or service a second time if unhappy with the first experience. From my dealings with businesses, if I have a bad experience in a shop then I am definitely reluctant to go in there again. For example, my brother got into a physical altercation with a taxi man over the taxi man trying to rob his girlfriends phone. The taxi man then brought him to court as he had a dash cam in his car. Long story short my brother was found innocent and the taxi man had to pay a fine for his behavior. Since then my family and friends I have told don’t use the taxi company anymore. So by receiving a bad name could have a massive effect on your company’s profits. This video below outlines the strategy of a good business management relationship.
Key Account Management
Key account management is the process of building long-term relationships with your company’s most valuable accounts. These accounts make up the majority of the business’ income. To turn buyers into business partners, a key account manager typically provides dedicated resources, unique offers, and periodic meetings. In my opinion by having someone who is reliable and trustworthy doing the accounts will have a great benefit on the company’s outputs. By valuing the people around you will create a good atmosphere in the company and to the external coming in eg customers. From my experiences in a work place by having a positive atmosphere around would create better work in the business. I think this because if everyone is happy it leads to the work being done and probably the quality as good as ever. Key Account Management is actually an approach to develop long term relationship with strategic important customers to optimize value and achieve mutually beneficial goals. These customers account for a significant volume of business and profit and hence require attention, effort, time and resources to grow and retain.

This is an example of a good way of keeping track of whats all going on in your business. I feel if every firm done this they would see the difference in change of the business. The business would be running more efficiently and also just everything would go smoother. As the business would be able to keep an eye on everything going on.
